They say that people give up their New Year's resolution on Jan 17. I start with mine: to eat healthier, lighter, more conscious. Soups are my friends, I love them and I find them calming, filling and comforting.
Yesterday I cooked a big pot of Vegetable soup like my babcia Emilka did. Today I added extra pasta to thicken it a bit. Sometimes I add cream to my plate, sometimes not. Enjoy! Smacznego!

Is there any nicest feeling from your childhood, the flavour of a yeast cake, straight from the oven? When it comes to me I see my grandma Emilka in the kitchen of our old house, serving me a piece of this cake spread with butter, and a glass of cold milk.

Pork in Sauerkraut is one of the most wintery dishes I know:) Really comforting food. My Mom serves it with mashed potatoes, so the juices from meat and sauerkraut add flavors to potatoes. We use 'karkówka' slices, which seem to be perfectly translated into 'pork neck' but some people alarmed that it should be more like 'Boston butt', do you agree. Try yourself, really worth trying!
