Rogaliki Drożdżowe z Marmoladą
Crescent Rolls with Marmalade are a simple dessert to enjoy with everyday coffee. I’m sure you have all the ingredients at home, so give it a try and enjoy these delightful soft and fluffy pastries right away:)
The first time I tasted Crescent Rolls with Marmalade was when I was a teenager. Marzena, my sister-in-law had made them, filling them with delicious cherry marmalade. We enjoyed them warm, straight from the oven, paired with cold milk. The memory of that day is truly special, filled with the warmth of family and the comforting taste of these homemade treats. Crescent Rolls with Marmalade are still Marzena’s specialty, mine are not as good as hers!

Ingredients
- 500 g (4 cups) all-purpose flour
- 50 g (1/4 cup) sugar
- 25 g fresh yeast or 11 g active dry yeast
- 250 ml (1 cup) warm milk
- 100 g (7 tablespoons) butter, melted and cooled
- 3 egg yolks
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 200 g (7 oz) marmalade (your choice of flavor)
- powdered sugar for dusting
- Prepare the yeast:
- If using fresh yeast, crumble it into a small bowl, add a teaspoon of sugar, and mix with warm milk. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- If using active dry yeast, sprinkle it over the warm milk, add a teaspoon of sugar, and let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- Make the dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, remaining sugar and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture, melted butter and egg yolks to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.
- Shape the crescents:
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts.
- Roll each part into a circle about 3-4 mm thick. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, divide each circle into 8-10 triangles.
- Place a small amount of marmalade at the wide end of each triangle. Roll up each triangle, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the tip to form a crescent shape.
- Second rise:
- Place the crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover with a cloth and let them rise for another 20 minutes.
- Bake:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bake the crescents for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Serve:
- Allow the crescents to cool slightly on a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
